Knoxville Asian Festival

The second annual Knoxville Asian Festival will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm at Market Square in Knoxville. This exciting outdoor event is organized by Kumi Alderman and involves exhibits of culture, food, performances, and more from China, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, and other countries. Admission to the festival is free, and there will be many food vendors for you to enjoy authentic asian cuisine throughout the day. The First Knoxville Asian Festival was held on Sept. 20, 2014. It was a day long celebration of asian culture in Knoxville and the surrounding region held at Krutch Park in downtown Knoxville. The festival featured exhibits of culture, food, performances, and more from China, Japan, Korea, India, and Thailand. This festival included Chinese booths from the UTK Chinese Students and Scholars Association, the UTK Confucius Institute, and KnoxvilleChineseCulture.org. Chinese entertainment included pop dancing from Dance Miracle, erhu playing from Wenshu Li, singing from Xiaotian Li and Qing Wen, dancing from the East Tennessee Chinese School, martial arts from Tao Tao Long, wushu from the East Tennessee Wushu Team, and Tai Chi from the East Tennessee Tai Chi Team.
