East Tennessee Chinese New Year Festival
This large, family-friendly variety show is held annually
in late January - early February during the Chinese New Year and brings together
many local Chinese organizations for an afternoon of singing,
dance, martial arts, and other performances to celebrate the
coming of Spring! In past years, we have had professional
musicians, dancers, and singers dazzle our audience, complemented
by a wide variety of talented local performers.
Our upcoming
Festival will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 6:30pm in Cox Auditorium
on the University of Tennessee Knoxville Campus. Our Special Guest this
year will be musician Yao Lu from Atlanta (pictured above),
who will play the guzheng for us, a traditional Chinese musical instrument. We also will have a Lion Dance,
dancing, singing, martial arts, poetry, and more.
